Sacking Ore at the Badger.
It is reported that tho Badger
people aro sacking ore at tbo Hull of
the Woods preparatory to shipping.
It is said to bo a lino quality of oro
and it is furthor stated that a mill is
contemplated on tbia property.

that tho City of Sumpter, Baker
County, Oregon, has authorized tho
issuauco and olfors for salo 815,000
worth of its bonds, tbo samo to bo
known as sowor bonds aud to bo
issued in amounts of Ouo Hundred
Dollars or any multiplo thereof, up
to 81,000, with interest thoroon at
six por cent per aununi payable semi
annually. Bald bonds to bo mado
payable 81,000 annually principal
and interest to be payable at the ottlco
of tho City Treasurer in tho City of
Sumpter, Baker County, Oregou.
Any aud all prospective buyers of
said bonds are required to aoud sealed
bids addressod to tho City Recorder
of tbo City of Sumpter, accompanied
by a certiiled chock of 8750, mado
payablo to tbe ordor of tbo City
Treasurer of the City of Sumpter, as
evidence of good faith of tbo biddor,
said sum of 8750 to bo applied upon
the purchase price of tbe bouds in
case of said bid being accepted.
All bids shall be in tbe bands of
tbe City Recorder on or before tbe
hour of eight o'clock P. M. on tbe
25th day of August, 1003, at which
time the same are to be opened by
the City Council of said City for
acceptance or rejection.
In case any firm, person- or corpor
ation, to whom said bonds are
awarded, shall fail, negleot or refuso
to pay to tbe City Treasurer of tbe
City of Sumpter, tbe purchase price
of tbe same, within ten days of tbe
acceptance of said bid, tbe amount
of the certified check so deposited
with said bid shall be forfeited to
said City of Sumpter as liquidated
aamages for said failure or neglect.
All other checks so accompanying
will be returned to the unsuccessful
bidders.
Tho City of Sumpter through its
Mayor and Common Couucil reserves
the right to reject any and all bids.
