That there shall be con structed iu the City of Sumpter, a sewer system in iiccordaue it the map thereof and drawings thereof entitled "Map of sewer system of the City of Sumpter", the specifications thereof entitled: "specifications of sewer system", prepared by C. II. Foiiucr, City Engineer, and designed by Phllbrlek is. Fonuer, Civil Engineers, and the estimate of cost thereof made by said C. II. Fonnor, City Kngiueer, all of which tire now 011 filo with the City Recorder of the City of Sumpter, Oregon, and are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Sec. 'J. That the cost of said sewer system shall be estimated iih hIiowii by the specificatloiiH and estimate aforesaid, prepared by said C. II. I'Yiincr, City Kngiueer, the total cost thereof iih shown thereby, to be the sum of $15,(100. That said sewer system shall be constructed at the e.x peuso of the entire city, the funds therefor to be raised by bonding the City. Sec. ,'l. Tha bonds shall be issued by the City of Sumpter to the amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars iu accordance with the provisions of the City Charter of Sumpter, Oregon, payable in 15 years to draw Interest at the rate of 15 per cent per annum, the moneys derived from the sale of said bonds to be Used solely iu defraying the cost of said sewer system Sec. I. That before said bonds are Issued, or any indebtedness for said sewer system incurred, an election shall be held as provided by tho City Charter; and the making of said Improvement mid tho Issuing of bonds therefor, shall be submitted to a voto of tho taxpayers of tho City at u special election to bo hold for that purpose. Tho City Recorder shall Immedi ately after tho passage and approval of this ordinance give notice as pro vided in the City Charter for tho holding of such special election, said notice shall state tho time audi I ords of said court as may bo neces sary, and perform such duties in con , nection therewith as may be required ' of him by the City Recorder or tho i common council of tho City of Sumpter. I Sec. :i. The Clerk of tho Recor der's Court shall recoivo as compou- satiou for all duties performed by I him, the sum of 825 per month, pay able monthly by warrants drawn on tho City Treasurer. Resolution Authorizing the City Attorney to Employ As sistance. lie it Resolved by tho common council of the City of Sumpter that tho City Attorney of said City of Sumpter be, aud is hereby authorized and empowered to employ such as sistance as he may 11 nd uecessarry in connect ion with tho work being dono mid to lie done hereafter in connec tion with tlio establishment of a sower system iu tho City of Sumpter, and tho opening and grading of streets. Any person or persons em ployed by said City Attorney to as sist him iu said work to bo paid such compensation iih may be reasonable by warrant drawn on the City Treas urer, the total amount to be expend- , ed therefor, to not exceed tho sum of 8200.00. Im- Bo it Resolved by tho common council of the City of Sumpter, in meeting duly and regularly assem bled, that the City of Sumpter through its proper olllcors, intends to improve Auburn Street from tho East lino of Center street Easterly to a point whore tho West lino of tho alley in tho center of block 11, Sumpter Heights, McEweu's oddltlon to tho City of Sumpter, us shown on tho plat of said addition, of record in tho olllco of tho Recorder of Con veyances of linker Comity, Oregon, extended Southerly would cross said Auburn Street. That said improvemnt shall con sist of establishing a grade on said' street, removing all obstructions therefrom, grading tho sumo to tho grade so established, and covering said street with a luyor of gravel to a depth of sovou-tentlis of a foot in tho contor of tho street and to a depth of four-tenths of a foot at tho gutter lino, which shall be laid on the' top of the earth, and the laying of all necessary gutters along said street. Said improvement to bo mado at tho expense of tho property ownors to bo bcuollted thereby as provided by tho City charter. Adopted by the council this 27tb day of June, lDOIl. S. S.
