Jt is announced by the managment at the Golden Wizard that the build ing of a 100-ton concentrator and cyanide plant will be undertaken at n early date. President Miller, of Three Rivera, Michigan, will be here about the 10th of July, aud a meet ing of the stockholders will take place at Tacoma on the 20th, at which time plans will be perfeoted, and arrangements made as to the definite character of tbo plant. The company has had this matter undor advisement for somo time, aud it is thought that the enormous extent of the ore bodies now being opened up fully warrant the installation of machinery with the capactiy named. In tho matter of transporting heavy machinery to the property tho company is at u decided advantage, einoe the mine is located only ono and a half miles from a branch of the Sumpter Valloy railway, aud reached by good roads of excelleut grado. It is the purposo to com plete arrangements as soon as pos sible and got tho machinery on tho ground whilo the roads are solid. The mill will probably bo In opera tion before the end of fall. Some tlmo ago Superintendent MoPhee had undor odvlsomout tho proposition of sinking a three com partment shaft, but ho came to the conclusion that this would be too expouslvo at prosont on account of tho heavy How of water, and to lot tho mattor stand until tho mill is in oporotion which will pay develop ment oxponttes. Tho Wizard vein is now being drifted ou at tbo rate of flvo feot a day, and tho contract will be completed by Augutit 1. Susauville, came in from tho property yesterday where he has been at work for somo time. Considerable de velopment has been doue showing a good grade of ore with a vein from four to seven feet in width. HIGHLAND A GREAT PROPERTY. Mr. Lee, of North Dakota, Examlnci Mine and Well Pleated. John K. Lee, of Wutipeton, North Dakota, a stockholder in the High land, in company with Nell J. Soreuseu, president of the company, visited tho property this week. Mr. Leo was exceedingly well pleased with the district in general and the Highland In par ticular. In Addition to Stamps Lumber Plant is to be Installed. AT GOLD BUG. President Van VIeet Takes Out Party of Iowa Investors. President Van VIeet, of tho Gold Bug, took a party of Iowa capitalists to tho property tho other day. Ho returned today and the party will spend a few days iu tho Greenhorns. Mr. Van VIeet says that tho Iowaus were well pleased with the unusually flue showing made at tbo mine. He is preparing to increase his working force, and Is now getting out timbers to build additional bunk houses and a dining hall. The blacksmith shop has been moved to a more convenient locality and oper ations are steadily going ahead. Mr. Van VIeet brought back a quantity of samples rich in free gold. Vialted the Standard. Hon. C. J. Warner, of Lincoln, Nebraska, a schoolmate of D. L. Killen, of the Klllen, Warner, Stewart company, was in t bejel ty last weok, aud in ail o a trip to the Standard. Mr. Warner aud his Nebraska friends own largo blocks of Standard stock. Development Proceeding and Good Copper Ore Being Uncovered. President T. J. Costollo, of the Forest Mining company, operating tho Storm Kiug group, iu the Cable Covo.dlstrlot, states that work is now being prosecuted iu tho Honest Dollar tunnel, an extension of tho Eureka claim. Tho tuunol is being headod for tho shaft sunk last winter, at which point a depth of .100 feet will be attained. Tho distance yet to drivo is somethiug over 1,000 feet. A good quality of copper ore, ho states, is being uncovered, aud the vein is seven feet between walls. Mary McLanc. W. A. Boyce, one of tbo owners of the Mary McLane group, near MAXWELL MILL TO START. Repairs Completed and Plant Will Soon be in Operation. W. C. Colonel John Temple Grayson, second vice president aud general manager of the Alpine Consolidated Gold Mines company, operating tho Alpine group In the Cable Cove district, was iu tho city this week to meet his superintendent, H. W. Nelsou, aud confer regarding tho work at tho mine. In addition to tho twenty-stamp mill which wan ordored from the Hisdoti Iron Worka of San Francisco, Colonel Grayson states that he has placed an order for Immediate shipment with tho same people for a sawmill with a dally capacity of 10,000. This plant la expected to arrive In a short time. It will be put in oporatiou as soon as possible to'cut lumber for tho buildings to bo orocted on tho property. Jones, president and general manager of the Lucky Boy in tho Bouuuza district, came iu tho other duy with a lino assortment of high grade samples from the property. Thoy ure good louking gold sulphides taken from a seven foot breast on tho present drift. Tho drift Is being carried north ou tho hanging wall, und Mr. Jones states thut the ore Is constantly improving. It Is practically the sumo character of tho Bouuuza ore. Dtilllng CsntMt at Bourne. The drilling match between Dun Duun and Zeb Ray, and Joo Johns aud Gus Heudesrou, mentioned elsewhore In this issue, will be pulled oh" at Bourne, Friday, for u purse of 8100 aud a side bet also of 8100. The management slates that already over 81,000 worth of work Iiuh been contracted for which demands Immediate attention, and the plant must bo going ut the earliest possible moment. WORK AT LITTLE CRACKER. Force Increased and Lead Will be Reached Soon. Tho management of the Little Cracker, In the Cracker Creek district, increased its fence last week and night aud day shifts are now being worked. It is thought tho loud will bo reached by the end of tho mouth. Eighty feet was driven ou tho vein In tho Putuiim claim, and when this was completed It wuh thought best to drop down to the Zenith In order to gain more depth.
