THE ALAMO.

Have Daily Capacity of
10,000 Feet.

yesterday, stated that ho Iiiih a forco
of moil at work clearing a hHo for u
sawmill to ho Installed on tho prop
erty right away. Tho mill will havo
a daily capacity of 10,000 foot, and
will bo run entirely to furnish lumber
for tho mining oprcatioiiH at tho
Alamo. Tho plant will ho operated
by water power which will also bo
tho power used at tho stamp mill
which Ih to ho Installed on tho
property shortly. Machinery la to
ho ordorod for tho sawmill at onco
and it will bo placed on tho site bo
lug prepared at tho soonest possibles
moment.
Tho stamp mill, iih Iiiih boon
mentioned heretofore, will bo built
for twenty, hut ton will ho put In to
start with, and the capacty increased
later on. The building will bo
constructed for tho accommodation
of twenty, however.
Superintendent Alcdiiigan states
that ho working a full forco of mou
at tho Alamo, and taking out good
ore. Ho already has from 12,000
to 15,000 tons on tho dump which
averages between $10 and 81 ii.

Kegardlng the extent of tho
present ore shoot which was encount
ered, the otllcers of the company
stated that of course it wiih Im
possible to give exact llugrcH on it,
but judging from tho place where
tills shoot was encountered and tho
distance on tho surface which shows
good ore, that it ought to extend
throughout tho entire length of tho
lluuunck Hum claim which is 1500
feel. Should such prove to bo the
case this may be considered one of
the most remarkable ore shoots ever
found in the district.
It is announced by tho compnay
that t lie stock of the Highland will
be advanced on May 1!, which Ih
doubtless on account of thin rich
strike. Tho stock is now selling at
six cents.
Will Develop the Kruger.
K. Sanderson Smith left yesterday
for tho Qunrt.burg district, to lxgin
work on the l'aul Kruger group.
TIiIh property Ih owned by himself,
C. II. Chance and some Tort land
people, which they bought for cash
more than a year ago. It Ih
understood that they luivo plenty of
money and will develop the initio
extensively this season. It has not
been Incorporated. Tho Kruger Ih
one of tho old locations in that
district, from which considerable
gold has Ucn takeu, the ore havlug
boon treated in a water power
arrastra. With this crude method,
saving none of tho concentrates, f 1,
800 was secured from a thirty-live
foot shaft.
