At tho instance of Mayor McColloch 11 petition addressed to the County Court of linker County, for a county road to bo established from Sumpter to the Itiirnl Itivor valley, a distance of Home twelve miles, has been circu lated among thooltl.ous of the valley which It is designed to tap. It received the signatures of all the residents of this district, llfty-oue iu number. During this mouth the petition will be circulated here. Any one desiring to sign It may do no by calling at Mayor McCulloch's oillce. The proposed location of the road Is described as follews: Commencing at a point east of the City of Huinpter, distance about one mile more or less, and whore what is known as the .Ion Young road bears Houtli from the road between the City of Huinpter, and McKweeu, the same Istlug at or near the northwest comer of tho northeast quarter of Section I Tp. Ill H K. :i7 K. W. M., linker county, Oregon, and running thence iu southerly direction through Hootlons I and II, thence southeast erly through Section IT anil 'JI1, and to ponit near the middle or the dividing line between Sections 21) nud 25; thenco hearing slightly Houthwost to u point near tho southeast comer of the northwest quarter of Section 2 in Tp. 11 S., It. :i7 K. W. The residents of the llurut Itivor Valley are extremely anxious to have the road located and express a willingness to contribute to this end In work or money. The business men of Humpler will be asked to contribute their share.
