W. Davidson, who returned from tho east a few days ago, placed the Olyiiipla group of Michigan capitalists, include the Olyiiipla, the Venus, the Krao Independence and tho Olyiiipla Placer, all situated in tho Cracker Crook district lietweou Cracker and Sard I no Crooks imiucdi- tely west of tho famous North Polo mine. Mr. Davldsou was II rut inter ested in ho properly by Judge Evans, of (Ills city. lie bonded it last Dcccmlior from its original owners, William Phillips and William Nlel, who have lieou in possession of the proprety for tho last four years dur ing which time they did considerable development work. Mr. Davidson continued this work, and on his trip east ho succeeded in signing the bond over to Michigan capitalists, who, it is understood, will push develop ment, and later whou they get around to it, install machinery. Mr. Phillips, 0110 of the original owners, who had u contract for driving a tun nel on the property, was In tho city last week and was paid In full for the work done and awarded a contract for 200 foot more tunnel. The group Is considered among tho host claims in the Cracker Creek district, and Is near the famous Mother Lode, which it parallels on tho western side. It is situated alongside the well known Mountain View property which Is lielng de veloped by Engineer Essolstoyu, for Portland people. Mr. Essolstoyu is a graduate of tho Houghton school of mines in Michigan, and was for merly In tho employ of Captain Do Lamar. A 500 foot crosscut Is now being driven from tho Sardine crook side to tap the Venus tunnel, thus giving I'JK foot depth of ore. A rich ore body was opocd on Venus tunnel a distance of seventy foot from Its mouth. Tho company has very little to say about Its prospective work, but it Is understood that developments are to l)o carried forward with all possible speed and machinery Installed whou the work has sutllcioiitly advanced. The newly married couple will .visit relatives in llaltimoro aud will sail from Sail Francisco for tho Philip pines the first of July, where Lieu tenant Nelson is to be stationed. The Mormon Temple. The Mormon temple at Suit I.nko City is no doubt the most substantial and well constructed religious edifice in the United States, if not in the world. This niagnilicen structure 100 feet long, 100 feet wide is built entirely of Utah white granite, beautifully carved, symbolic of the Mormon faith, surmounted by six towers, the highest being 230 feet from the ground, suportlng a bronze statue of the angel Maroni. The cost of this building is about $(1,000,000. There are many other attractions at Bait Lake City of interest to Hie traveler or tourist where a day can be well Bent.
