United States Heads The List

tion is constantly opening up new min
ing districts and prospecting for new
fields in the vast unexplored territory
known to give promise of returns more

who shall uncover thu golden deposits.
California, Colorado, Idaho and now
Oregon havu for years contributed their
share of the gold output, which, since
' M0" has added so many hundreds of
millions to the wealth of the nations.
Thu riches of the Comstock will
doubtless llnd a counterpart in somu of
thu new gold fields yet to lie oK'lied.
Alaska has not yet told its tale of hid
den wealth or as yet discovered thu
great quartz veins from which has
como thu gold formed in tho richer
pincers.
Oregon, only now coming into promi
nence, has yet to show the extent and
wealth which it is lielieved lies within
its boundaries and promises u return to
those who seek it and havo the ability
and means to develop its resources.
Our gold output is tho great back log
of thu enterprise and development going
in every direction around it, and
emanating from it is the llame that
kindles the desire and efforts of the
whole people.
It is thu production that needs no
