KANE DISAPPEARED. Well Known Oregon Newtpaper Man Can Not be Found. Thomns F. Knne, a well known coast newspaper writer is missing. The last heard of him was at Lewis ton, Idaho, on December 31. Mr. Kane was in that city on business for the Pacific Miner, of Portland. Itnppenrshe had put in the entire night writing in his room at a hotel. At 6:30 o'clock in the morning Mr. Kane told the clerk he was through with his work'iiud would retire. From that time on nothing has been heard of him. Ills nccounts were all straight with the parties by whom he was employed, and he had quite a sum of money on his Hrson. Mr. Kane should ho well known to all Oregoiiinns who have resided in thostato for any length of time. Some years ago he published a magazine in Portland entitled Kane's Illustrated West. After abandoning that venture he traveled for u time for the Oregotiiaii, then removed to Seattle, where he was identified with one or more pners. ror some time past he has been rep resenting the Pacific Miner on the road, and was in Sumpter about one mouth ago. Those who know the missing man well do not credit any suicide theory. but fear he is the victim of foul play. MAPS FREE.
