Georse Confer brought the information here from the mines that the tunnel on No. :! reached the main vein of coal Wednesday and that the miners are now at work ''rooming out." The vein is 7 feet in depth and of the class of eon) that Iuih heretofore been published. It is 71 percent pure and is called eekini: coal. It has no ash and leaves no waste, has treut steam iniildiiu power and is pro nounced tood for welding nr smelting. It has been examined by numerous persons familiar with the coal llelds of thu east, who pronounce it all that has been claimed. A number of I'endleton citizens have tried it in urates and suy its burning oualities are excellent.
