An exchange gives this summary of the now revenue law : July 1 the recent act of congress on the war tax goes into effect ami changes and modifications from the present law, relating to finan cial documents, etc., nre as foljews: The taxes entirely repealed nro the two cent tax on bank checks, the ten cent tax on bills of lading for export, the fifty-cent tax on bonds not specified other than indemnity bonds, tho two cent tax on certificate not specified in the present law, the $20 tax on commer cial brokers, the two-cent tux on sight drafts, tho twenty-five-cent to one dol lar tax on leases, tho tnx on money or ders, the tax on morgago or conveyance in trust, tho two-cent tax on promissory notes and the twenty-fivo-cent tax on protests. Tho modifications of tho presont law ere: Hills of exchange, foreign, reduced from four cents to two cents for each $100 ; conveyances at presont taxed fifty cents on each (000 will bo exempted be low (2500, and above $2500 tho tax will bo twenty-five cents on each $500 j sales of products ut exchanges will be taxed as at present, one cent on each $100 re tained, though merchandise sold in tran sit is exempt from taxation. Among the items in tho present law which will not bo changed are : Hunkers' capital and surplus, $50 for $25,000 and $2forcuehuddltlonal$1000; bonds, in dentures, certificates of indebtedness, etc., five cents for eacli $100 j certificates of stock-, transfers, two cents for each $100; drafts, time or bills of exchange inland, two cents on each $100; stock brokers, $50.
