A press dispatch of recent date from Berkley, California, s.ivs: Discoveries of paleontologlcal material are reported in a recent letter to President Wheeler, dated Monument, Or., July 4, from Pro fessor John C. Merrlam, who is at (lie head of the expedition sent to the John Day fossil helds in eastern Oregon by California. It says in have been operating in the northern range of the Blue Moiin lairs. Among our specimens are iuite a number of hue skulls, some of which are the best that have been found here.
