Elsewhere the SUMPTER MINER to day Is published a notice of another divi dend declared by the Sumpter Townsite Company, Limited. This is the third In terim dividend paid. In February one of 3 per cent was declared, In March 2 per cent and for April another of 2 per cent; 7 per cent In three months, or at the rate of 28 per cent annually. It is understood, though not officially, that all of these dividends are, virtually, 'velvet;" that the money originally In vested by the stock holders was returned to them before any dividend was de clared and that they are now receiving net profits on their fortunate investment. The company still owns much the larger portion of Its original holdings, all valuable property immediately joining the original townsite, that Is daily Increasing in value. And it Is increasing In value for that best of all reasons, that the llgiti mate demand continues, unabated. One of the unusual features of the activity In Sumpter real estate has been, from the start, that scarcely any of it has hwn boueht for purely speculative pur poses. It has been sold to people who wished to build homes and business houses for themselves; or to rent, as a permanent investment. For this reason, there has been practically no iiuciuauon in values, the change being a gradual, steady advance a condition rarely met with in boom towns. SutMca Death of AkM Downle.
