Edward Everett Young reached home
today from a visit to his old home in Ala

sixty-two years.

Dudley D. Lancaster, a prominent
mining broker of Spokane, largely Inter
ested In Reservation properties, arrived in
Sumpter this forenoon.
P. I). Mealy has remodeled the room
where lie formerly conducted the shoe
business and will have a well appointed
cigar and fruit store there hereafter.

passed through Sumpter Sunday on his
way to Prairie City, to examine some
mining proptrty in that section. On his

about Sumpter, on the same mission.

partitioned into three apartments, making
very convenient office rooms.
Goss & Swigett have moved their real
estate offices from up stairs to the bank
parlors on the ground floor, In the same
building, where they are nicely located

outside investors.
'I he outfit of the Colorado Transfer
company, extended mention of which was
made In these columns last week, is now
in the corral at Pendleton, except about
forty stray horses that have not yet been
rounded up. The stock now at Pendle
ton will be driven through to Sumpter,
leaving there tomorrow and will be here
in about five days.
Clark Snydc returned several days
since from Denver, where he had been on
business for a month past. He reports

terday, seeing what arrangments had
been made for holding the democratic con
vention here Saturday. The democrats
will meet in Ellis Opera house and the
populists In the fraternal hall, which is in
the same building.
