Dr. Greenlee, dentist, Is located over the Sumpter Drug company store. Andrew Jackson Record died this morn ing from n complication of diseases. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Kills have moved Into tl;cir beautiful new home on North street. J. A. (Jellatly has sold hi' interest in the Golden Eagle hotel to Mr. Bruce-, of Portland. Mr. Armstrong, of the linn of McCol- lum .V Armstrong, Is dangerously III with pneumonia. John Arnibruster and A. W. Ellis left today for Portland on business connected with the Columbia brewery. A party of eighteen Colorado mining operators and prospectors are now in Maker City and will be here this week, on their way to the Greenhorn camp, west of Sumpter. Eugene II. Ilartholf.a Colorado mining man, recently trom I Jaw son, arrived here last week and will remain permanently, his family having preceeded him several weeks ago. H. I.. Mcl.alu, who has had charge of the erection of the mill at the .Magnolia mine, came In last week, having com pleted his work and turned the plant over to the owners, in the most perfect run ning order. D. II. IMsk having sold the lot and building on Auburn street where he for merely conducted the wagon and black smith shop, has again embarked In the same business and Is erecting a building for that purpose In the Vinson addition, across the river. Ira A. Manning, brother of City Re corder E. L. Manning, arrived In Sumpter from Tncoma Monday, and will engage in the real estate and Insurance business with his brother. His wife and daughter will join him shortly. Allen & Dewey, who recently pur chased the ground and building opposite the depot, have opened therein a neat and well appointed saloon It is needless to say they will enjoy a good share of the business in their line. Wm. Kitchen who operates the Walla Walla feed yard, near the warehouses on the railway tracks, has added a dairy business to his other Interests and fur nishes real milk without the aid of a pump to the Sumpter public. Clarence E., the seven-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Rowles, died from membraneous croupe Saturday night at Mrs. Britten's lodging house, the parents having been here but one week. Case & Co. took charge of the remains, Interment being made Sunday afternoon In the Sumpter cemetery. T. G. Harrison, who first came here two weeks ago In the interest of San Eranclsco parties, seeking a field for in vestment, has returned from that city and has about consummated arrangements whereby he will become a fixture In Sumpter, In connection with one of Its most important enterprises, which will be mentioned at a later date. Thomas I". O'Ncil.aged about 49 years, a miner by occupation, died Monday morn ing at 6 o'clock of pneumonia at Mrs. Britten's lodging house, after a sickness of one week. His remains were taken In charge by Case & Co. undertakers, and were buried in the Sumpter cemetery. The deceased was a worthy and Industrious man and leaves two children who are un derstood to live in Milwaukee, Wis. Will Build a Mill on the Crown Point. II. E. Harbee, who has been spending the winter at his former home in Carroll, Iowa, reached Sumpter Saturday. He says he heard much discussion of Sumpter and the surrounding gold fields while east, and that many people from rliat section will come here within the next few mouths. Mr. Harbee represents Iowa capital that is Interested in the Crown Point mines, Cable Cove.district. He says he will erect a mill on the prop erty this season; The Mint saloon, comer Center and Sumpter streets, serves the best brands on y of wines, liquors and cigars. Sumpter souvenir spoons. P. C.
