Shaw Lumber Company Buys
Part of Tietjen Tract.
Wednesday, January 3, 1900.
k
E. C. Bloomer, the representative here
of the A. C. Shaw Lumber company, of
Tacoma, closed the deal a day or two
since for twenty-four acres of the Tietjen
tract, three-quarters of a mile out on the
Bonanza road, to be used as a saw mill
site.
The machinery for this mill arrived early
in December, since when Mr. Bloomer
has been looking for a suitable place to
erect the mill. He is an experienced saw
mill man, knows the requirements and
understands the importance of an ad
vantageous location and convenient sur
roundings. He has, therefore, bided his
time until he could get what he wanted,
which he says lie has now secured.
MINER readers will remember that he
found soon after his arrival here two tracts
of timber land near town that suited him
lit every particular, except that there Is
every Indication that the land contains
minerals, and he declined to purchase a
probable contest.
The work of erecting the buildings and
Installing the machinery begins imme
diately, and the mill will soon be in opera
tion; just when Mr. Bloomer doesn't care,
to state. The mill will have a capacity of
30,000 feet a day.
The right-of-way up the gulch for a
Me track has already been secured by
the Sumpter Valley railroad.
