A surprise party was tendered Miss Edna Miller at her home in the Capital hotel parlors the evening previous to her departure for Portland, by her many friends, among w horn were Mr. and Mrs. Tedrowe, Mr. and Mrs. Steffen, the Mis ses Jenkins. Roberts, Spalding, Myers, Reard, Jackson and Farsous, Prof. Sat ing, Messrs. Jewett, Manning, Shelton and Dr. Mrooks. Games and music fol-1 lowed by refreshments made the evening 1 a delightful one, all leaving their best wishes for a pleasant winter for Miss Miller, who will attend college at Port laud, for which place she and her mother, 1 Mrs. 1.
