The report of the committee 4111 Streets and Public property for the grading and gravelling of Pine Street from Saiitinm Road to Eighth Street! was adopted and the petition of prop- rrty owners for the work grunted. A petition signed by Dr. A. P. Howell and others for the grading and grav elling of Seventh Street from Main to Pine was referred to the same com mittee for investigation and report. The Oregon Klm-tric Ry. t'o. through its attorney, Gale S. Hill, was granted a three months extension of time for the construction of a spur from the main freight line to the P & S. cannery. The work will be com pleted by July 1. Upon motion of Councilman Beam the installation of a fire hydrant at Salem Road and Pine streets was authorised.
