Portland physicians as sleeping sick- -ness
occupied the attention of local .
doctors for a period of 10 days prior
to last Thursday. F. J. Grlpp, sales
man for the Wayne Oil Tank and
Pump Co., of Sin Francisco, make
Portland his Vadquarters became ill
while here at the St. Francis HoteL
At first he slept for two days.
The first day' when he failed t

woke up for ashort interval but soon
fell asleep again. He slept through
to the next day when he was aroused
and made to sit up. He Was hungry
and ate heartily. Later he' shaved,
but was soon overtaken by his steep

down from Portland to care for her
husband. Each moming he was a
Wakened, when he seemed hungry and
called for ham and egs. He was giv- '
en the eggs and other soft foods and
after having his customary hare he

was taken to Portland where he is

Roy Pirtle, of the St. -Francis is -inclined
to doubt the sleeping sick
ness theory, stating that he did not
act like a person afflicted with that '
ailment. It seemed to be a' ease of'
