BULLFIGHTING
f,IAY COMEBACK
Mexicans Agitate for Revival
of Barbaric Outbursts
Now Taboo
MEXICO CITY, By A. P An
energetic effort a being made to re
store bull-fighting which ha been
an ecllp inc president Carranza
in 1916 prohibited auch apeetaclei In
the federal dlitrict and official elae
where rowned upon th iport. A pe
tition aiking that th preaidential de
er be revoked, eigned by more than
one thousand citizen of the city of
Orizaba, is now In th handa of th
Chamber of Deputies and action upon
it by the lower house I expected
shortly. A similar petition laat year
failed In it purpose by a aingla vat.
Many persona believ that, with strong
er pressur brought to bear this year
a favorable dec is Ion will be reached.
Indicative of a deaire to ae home
far they may go without official in
terference, is the staging of several
exhibitions in Mexico City and it
suburbs within th past few weeks,
while President Carranza wa away
on vacation. Advertised aa mere tx
hibition inwhich . wall-known mata
dors would "play with th bull", they
developed into the real thing and
once again the "peladoa" had cheap
meat on Monday, th poor claaa of
native again by custom being giv
en the carcass of the bull after ha is
slain.
The newspaper were not inclin
ed to censure this technical infrac
tion of law. Instead they devoted
I columnna to descriptions of the
I' fights, comparing them with simil
ar exhibitions before the prohibitive
decree.

University of Oregon, Eugen. Nov.
16 Thirty-five set of bird' eggs, to

to th zoology museum of th Univer

early eighties. Dr. Prill had form
erly collected for the Smithsonian Ins
