rfOne of the greatest needs of America today is the
need of hornet. Read the opinion handed down by
' , hc publishers of the Atlantic Monthly on the sub- .
ject of building conditions:
"The best authorities at this time state that the
United States is short on practically all character
of buildings. As a whole, this country is Forty
her cent underbuilt."
' This being the case, don't you see that you are
actually losing by not. building? Because the dt

have tied some Hundreds or Thousands of Dollars ;
from which you are not receiving a ceAt of profit.
Is it good business to let money lie idle when it
can be so easily made productive? '
It is actually worse than idle money. It is a con-1
itant, annual source of loss an expense. The tax
collector attends to that. Is it good business to pay.,
tax on property that is profitless to you?
Furthermore, this city actually needs more homes.
You are holding a piece of ground which might be
turned into some, one's residence. .To this extent
you are under moral obligations to the city to build.
And by allowing your property to lie, unsightly and
unimproved, you are hindering the enhancement of
property values in your neighborhood. Thus you
suffer still another loss.

Positive Necsasitlo. -I
A modern turn and alio are positive
necessities In modem dairy farming.
They keep high-priced animals healthy
and productive, save labor, and con
serve feed, which at It present price
I good business.
In planning a dairy barn, or general
purpose-barn. It I always well to con
sult the local architect, builder and
vaatertal dealer before deciding nn the
design. These men know how a barn
should be built to supply the negls of
the Individual. They also can tell
what such a building will cost, and will
help finance the building fl.ould It be
necessary.
Dairy products are high In price now,
just as are other farm products. And
they will continue so fur Hume years to

Go Ahead
U was In the Philippine, as w
recall the story, that a party of Mi
dler found themselves In a Strang
region whnre they had reason to sua
pert that bolo knlve atiounded. It
seemed prudent to reconnolter and
then hold a council to deride which
direction would le safest. So the sol
diers went out ico itlng In pnlrs.
The first pslr climbeil a hill and
saw another hill, and havinr climbed
that they saw aonther. After om
iwentv hours they returned and re
ported that they hsd not seen any
thing hut just ona hill nfior another.
The other scout made like report.
"Well." said tho lleitffnant, "It
seem that nolxxly really know any
thing;, o we best just go ahead,"
And they duly reached their destination.
If you are looking for hill then I
nothing else within the whole circle of
th horiion; you can eo uncertainties
in any given direction. It would bo
foolish, In this disturbed world, to as
sert that anybody absolutely knows
anything about tha f.iture. So the
only senslhle plan is just to go ahead,
for there I on certainty nnmely,
that If wo don't go ahead we shall
nevef get anywhere.
There is. the matter of price, for
alampl. Oo not sit round waiting
for any suppositious readjustment of
prices. If there Is anything you can
make good use of, from a pair of
shoes to farm, go ahead and buy it
right now and get tha us of it If
you have Immediate mod of build

room for the feed Mupply.
The dimensions of the building are
86 by 60 feet. It Is of standard plank
frame 'construction, set on a concrete
foundation. The gambrel-trussed roof,
which eliminates all posts In the hay
loft, permits the storage of a maxi
mum amount of roughage, while the
silo at one end provides the animals
with fresh feed all winter.
rtiere are many Interesting features

The single cow stalls are ranged

the feed alley provide for 16 cows,
eight on each side. At the front ot the

a pen for the calves. At the rear of
the building are feed rooms and the

are ten windows on each aide of the

I immediate appeal to tbe dairyman who

For these reasons the farmer or dairy
man who Is successful must have his
milk and butter manufacturing estab

ran produce what he has to sell at the
least cost In this way bla herd will
