tempting to commit suicide.
Since the age of 13 this boy has hsd
an extraordinary career of adventure.
He was at Antwerp when it was tak
en by the Germans, escaped from
there and afterwards accompanied
Sgt. O'Leary, the famous Irish V. C.
and attracted much notice by address
ing recruiting meetings at Hyde Park
and other places.
Several people interested themselv

cellent position. He lost it because
he was suspected of theft.
The thought of his friends 'disap
pointment weighed so much on his
mind that he tried to kill himself bv
drinking a concoction of phosphorus
match-ends mixed with vinegar and
various other evil-tasting ingredients
