Mrs. Earl C. Brandeberry presided

the Red Cross rooms to work. loiter

where dainty refreshments were serv

A few pleasant social hours were
passed Tuesday afternoon by Vhe
Pythian Sisters club. Kancy work.
knitting and a general good time
were enjoyed until a later hour.
The Tuesday club spent an after
noon of this week at the Red Cross
headquarters. Red Cross work and
conversation made the afternoon's
hours pass profitably and pleasantly.
Little Alice Eisner celebrated her
seventh birthday with a party Thurs
day afternoon. Several little guests
came in to spend the jolly time in
games with, later, a dainty lunch.
A gay little affair of Friday night
was the supper party given by the
He la (iamma girls at the home of Miss
Helen Origsby. The artistically ap
pointed table held an attractive cen
terpiece of varihued spring blossoms.
The remainder of the evening was
passed in a pleasant social way.
A most perfectly appointed dinner
was presided over Sunday by Mr. and
Mrs. O. f. Austin. Forming an at-
tractive floral centerpiece for the ta
ble was a large bouquet or many-huea
spring blooms. Music and conversa
tion occupied the remaining hours of
the afternoon.
At the home of Miss Irene Snyder
on Tuesday evening, a crowd of girls
enjoyed a "Little Girls" party. In
appropriate garb the guests came to
spend the evening in games and jol
lification. A lunch rounded out the
evening's plea surer. The Misses Har
riet Phipps and Bessie Potter, of Ore
gon City, were the honor guests for
the evening.
Another jolly affair of this week
was the covered dish supper given bv
a crowd of girls at the home of Miss
Ardys Doughton. The prettily decked
table was centered with a bouquet of
"J ! spring flowers, daffodils predominat
ing.
Mrs, Myrvle Looney atcd ns host
ess on Thursday to the Rural Ladies'
club on Thursday afternoon. The
hours were passed in a delightful way,
knitting and fancy-work composing
the chief diversions. Present at this
time were the Mesdames Nelson Al
tcrmatt, Robert Fisher, Mason Bar
ber, B. W. Shirley, James Cochran,
I). May, Rona Conn, Gordon Pike, Ur
ban Shroad, Virgil Looney, Wm. Ral
ston; the Misses Nora and Lucy Ash
ton, and, as complimented guests, Mrs.
Thomas Froman, Mrs. Hudson, of Se
attle, Mrs. Mowrader of Leaburg. Mrs.
Ehrenrich and Miss Anna Bender.
A crowd of small boys and girls
passed Friday evening at a little
dancing party as guests of Spencer
Sanders. After a few hours passed
in this diversion, light refreshments
were served. Those present were An-

The ladies of the Christian church
entertained in a pleasant way at the
home of Mrs. F. C. I'annals, Wednes
day afternoon. Ferns and wildflow
ers, prettily arranged about the
rooms, rave an artistic decorative ef
fect. The unual diversions occupied
the afternoon and a dainty lunch was
served.
At the home of Mrs. Victor OMiver,
Miss Jennie i'aynter and Mrs. Oliver
entertined the l. P. M. girls on Tues
day evening. About the rooms dalnt
shadt d carnations were used in dee
orati.m. Knitting and conversation
were brought to a close with a lunch.
Mrs. T. J. Porter acted as hostess
to the Missionary Society of the
Methodist church Wednesday after
noon. A musical program and social
diversions took up the afternoon's
time. A profusion of fernery and
dainty blossoms decorated the rooms
where the guests gathered to pass the
afternoon.
