Preparations are going ahead for
the Annual Poultry Show which will
lie held in this city Thursday to Sat
urday, Dec. 13 to' 16. The place of
meeting has not been chosen yet, hut
it is hoped that the armory may he
secured.

eminent, authority on chickens.

er had their stock registered or scor

advantage to them, Score cards will
be kept for every entry, on which will
bo shown all the defects and good
points of the fowls. This will be a
help in future breeding, and wll give
the owners a chance to know just
what they have.
Any of the officers of the associa
tion will be pleased to answer ques
tions regarding the show, and cor
respondence is invited by the man
agement. Court Martial Recommends.

Daniels announced that the naval in
quiry board had recommended the
court martial of Captain Edward
Beach, commanding the cruiser Mem
phis, when wrecked in Santo Domin
go harbor several weeks ago.
Election Frauds.

Washington, Nov. 14. The depart
ment of justice announced that of
ficial investigation of election frauds
will - continue despite the fact that
the election is passed. The depart
ment refused to divulge further de
tails of alleged violations. It said the
information might assist the male
factors to escape.
Campaign Expenses.

Washington, Nov. 14. The admin
istration announced that a senate in
vestigation of all campaign expendi
tures at the next session would be
made. It is aliened money was im
properly used. This will force both
parties to produce campaign books.

HEAR REPORT FRIDAY
Judge Stewart Will Read Care

At a meeting of the Linn County
Historical Association, called by.
President C. H. Stewart for Friday
evening. Judge Stewart's report on
the marking of the old oionccr immi
grant train through the county will
be read. Also the report of Judge
Wilson, of Corvallis, who has been
going over the route in licnton coun
ty, will be given.
Judge Stewart has been working
several months on his paper and now
believes it to be in very good shape,
indicating accurately the course taken
by the earlier pioneers in traveling
through the valley south.
. The trail marking is being done
under the. auspices ui the Daughters
of the Revolution, who arc placing
monuments afong the way to mark
the routes traveled by the settlers of
the west.
The meeting wil be held in the li
brary building Friday evening.
