EDITORS MEETING AT SALEM
IN ANNUAL CONVENTION
Salrm, Or., Nov. 5 Many of the
moil prominent editors of the date
were gathered in the home of repre
sentatives, state capitot buildntK. to
day when the annual convention of
the Oregon State Kditorial associa
tion ai called to order by President
K. E. Ilrodie, of Oregon City.
After an address of welcome by
K. J. Hendricks, of the Salem States
man, 1'retident Ilrodie rcsKndcd and
then delivered his annual message.
The appointment of resolutions and
other committees was following by a
number of addresses pertaining to the
business ot publishing a newspaper.
Among the speakers were A. E.
Voorhics. of Grants Pass; Elbert
Rede, of Cottage Grove.
This afternoon A. R. O'Brien, of
the Record, Marshfield: Professor
Allen, department of journalism. Uni
versity of Oregon; Alfred Holman.
editor of the Tribune. Oakland, Calif ,
and John F. Carroll, editor of the
Telegram. Portland, are scheduled to
speak.
