Community Meeting
Superintendent of School, Jackson,
and the county school supervisor, will
be in attendance at a community mel
ius which will be held at Thomas on
February 20.
Bible Clan Elects
The Boys' Bible class of the First
Presbyterian church met last niuht
wiTh their teacher. R. E. Dowd. for
their annual banquet. Part of the
evening was spent in the election of
oliiccrs. Ernest Dohnert being named
as president. Glen Jackson as vice
president, and Hubert Kortmiller, as
sccre ta ry-t reasu rer.

A banquet was given last night at
the Y. M. C. A. by the division of the
women's class which lost out in the
recent membership contest. Th

Chess Tournament
Chess and checker experts at the
Y. M. C. A. will have a chance to
show their skill in the near future in
a tournament which has been ar
ranged. The tournament will start
Saturday evening at 7; A) and all en
tries must be made by seven o'clock
the same evening. C. E. Sox, R. S.
Snyder, and David Wleder are the
committee in charge.
Intermediate League
The intermediate class al the Y. M
C. A. has formed a basketball league,
comprised of six teams. Two games
will be played each week, rnday nigh
being the time selected. The games
will start at 7 o clock.

bicycle race to be held in Chicago,
for 20 years is scheduled to start to
night in the international amphithea
ter at the stockyards, with nearly a
score of well-known racers entered
If the attempt to revive the marathon
races is successful, a series of con
tests will be arranged this winter.
The track inside the amphitheater
is ten laps to the mile and amply
banked for speed. The building has
