The Sligo Iron Mills, on the south side,
will resume operations, dou'jie turn, on
Tuesday, Eight hundred men will be em
ployed. Oliver k Holer t it's wire and rod mill will
start up on Wednesday, running double
turn, for the first time tinea the summer
abut-down.
Ttie Tenth Street mill of the Oliver Iron
and Steel Company will resume on Tues
day, double mrn.
The mills of DU worth. Porter & Co., and
A M Byers & Co.. which have been in par
tial operation, will also resume in full on
Tuesday. A Conservative estimate of tbe
number of men that will be employed in
these mills places the number at 3,000.
Carrie Furnace No 3, at Keating Station,
on the Baltimore and Obio Railway, which
has been Idle almost a year, will bo put in
blast next week, giving employment to 200
workmen.
