A Bad Man, A man was brought be
fore a Missouri justice of the peace,
charged with the olleiice of kissing a
young lady "by force and violence, and
against her wiil." The young lady, who
was very handsome, gave iier testimony
in a modest and straightforward manner,
after which his worship gave the follow
ing decision : "The court in the case
sympathizes with the defendant, and
will therefore discharge him without a
line, imprisonment or reprimand, be
cause the court, while this case lias been
in progress, lias lieen obliged to hold on
to both arms' of his chair in order to keep
from kissing the complainant himself."
