These quiet days a visit along the river
front offers many incidents of interest, and
exhibits the fact that there is a large
amount of buzz and bum in the city of
Albany,
Farthest cast are the Red Crown Mills
running with a large force of men and
turning out brands of flour with no superior
and few equals. The Red Crown speaks
for Itself all over the Northwest.
The new Woolen Mills already have a
good force of hands at work on cassamcrcs
and blankets, and the quality of the goods,
It is noticeable, is the best. It Is safe to
predict that A Ibany woolens will be known
for their superiority along the Pacific
Coast.
The Albany Farmer warehouse is full
E wheat awaiting purchasers, or rather
sellers, for present prices do not suit.
The Santiam Lumber yards are we!
stocked with a fine grade of building lum

increased buiucss, and soon the yards will
be a scene of life.

' The Republic Knocked Out. Re
solved, that the signs of the times indicate
the fall of the Republic" Is the subject d

which is made elsewhere. It was decided
in favor of the affirmative. Oakville beats
the world when it comes to debating, and
they have men there who can prove that
