about three miles from this city, and the treas
ure box of the Northwestern Fxpress Company
anil the mail bags were taken by the robber.
No clue can be obtaiued as to the party, as
he was masked and his feet were muffed. He
carried a Winchester, and the mail carrier not
being armed there was no difficulty in making
the seizure.

terday were Kdwin Norton and Edward Adcock
of Chicago, the former a member of the firm of
