WALLA WALLA, Wash., Dec 3.-
Goods valued at $135,000 went up in
smoke at the Mottcr-Whecler depart-
mcnt store this morning lust as the
clerks were arriving to open up a large
"expansion sale." The fire- quickly
gutted the building, except one bank
of shelves, and water completed the
damage. Tonight 40 employes are out
