Albanv, ROCK FOR GOOD ROADS. Ubbe Peters has returned from a Marion county trip, and is quite en thusiastic over some road he struck be tween Bit Angel and Scott's Mills. It is made of crushed rock, and Mr. Peters hecame convinced that this crushed rock is tne great thing for a county road, and that Linn county should take it up. Crushed lock slays, and it means a permanent road. M. L. Foster, who has gained a Bplendid reputatjon as a road builder, v,ii in the city yesterday. He sug gests a plan for gradually building up the roads of Linn county, under the im proved grade svstem which it is hoped will ue taken up by the county court. Roads leading out from the different cities will be gradually improved, includ ing those of Alhany, bo oadly needed, until the county is well covered. Oregon BRICK YARD Bought by the Wentworths- J, T. and H. T. Wentwortli have bought the brick yard and outfit of J. S. Morgan, in the eastern suburbs of the city. They intend to double the capacity of the plant, having for che maritet this year 900,000 brick. They already have 300.000 brick ready for th 3 demands of the building people in the valley. The Wentworths believe thoroughly in the future of Albany, and the deal by them will mean a good deal for Albany. J. T. Wentworth, who recently went to Seattle with a view of locating will be hore for some time, and perhaps permanently. They propose that Albanj people shall have all the brick needed right at home. Died Don Carlos Stewart, at Minto, Or.,- on July 3, 1909, of typhoid fever. He was born at Minto June IS, 1892. and spent most of his life at home and in school at Jefferson. He leaves tho following to mourn his death: a father and mother one brother.
