The subject was The Develop ment of Character, presented in an able rumiLer. The importance of character in connection with an education was en. Urged upon in an Impressive manner. Lineal descendants, political preferment, wealth, are all small compared with character. Character is law, net an archy. All progress depends upon character. Character education of the mreeesis necessary to the existence of the republic. Of the criminal classes one-third are absolutely uneducated and lour nuns practically uneducated. The world wauls men ol decision of character who will control evil, and not be con trolled by it. When you possess char acter no one can rob jou of it but your self.
