A Remarkable Ixcidkst happened a John Kiger's place south of Corvallis last week. The five year o'd child in the family, named Ney.went with bis moth er to the creek lor water. Not faraway, was a watering trough, used by sheep and other stock. In it there was a foot more or 'ess of water. After a time V'rJ. Kiger missed the child and called. There was no response and the mother became uneasy. She mad i a hasty search. Ap proaching the watering trough she WoS shocked to tee inside of it first Un clothing ami then Ihe upturned face of her -hild. The little one was apparent ly palid in death. He was seized by the Irantic parent, and th work of resusci tation began- For full fifteen minutes the mother worked and ihe win fina ly rewarded, when the boy becan to breathe. How long he had been in li e trough is nor known. It is eupposed that'he fell in face downward, and that ou this account the mothir, not fr away, tailed to hear bis screams. JUniee. A Great Victory.
