I! louse A highly important edisideration in in fluencing men in the coming election will be the business state of the country. What CTcr criticisms may be made of President Cleveland, there has been no safer president in the office within the memory of this gen eration. Business has never at any time received anything but aid and strength from tne policy of his administration, and those concerned in it have entire confiden ce in the president's wisdom and discretion. He is entitled to support from this cause, and specially when the schemes against which he has had to contend arc remem bered. He will receive it. Congressman William McAdoo of New Jersey, says the Republicans are losing ground in his state every day: that their "hurrah is petering out, and the more thoroughly the people understand the is sues of the canvas the more they become our way of thinking. Gf course, it will be a brisk fisiht. but Democrats need have no fear of the result in New Jersey." This office is in receipt of the (Mich.) As to-morrow is the day for the examination of the negro miners and their Pinkerton guards who have been arrested as trespassers on the land claimed by Alexander Ross, and as the guards and negroes will of course have to lay down theirarms when taken to court, it has been feared that the Roslyn miners will seize this occasion for entering the for-, tilled mine No, 3 and executing their threat to keep the negroes away. It is at the re quest of Manager Uuckeyth.it the govern 01, who is the chief peace officer of the ter ritory ,and the attorney-general, are going to the scene of contention.
