Cleveland and Thurman will be electcdi
and as tariff reform is demanded by the
farmers and working men of the country,
the great majority of them will vote against
Harrison and Morton. He is an ardent tariff
reformer, prominently identified with the
labor organizatons of the state, and denoun
ces protection as a system of extortion little
better than highway robbery.

by Max Kreigle and wife. The complaint
alleges that cp Tune 25 plaintiffs' infant
hud became sick,and the druggists made a
mistake in filling a prescription, and the
child was given salicylic acid instead of
harmless powders, the child was imme-
lately seized with convulsions, and laid m
n unconscious condition till July 3, when
died, the parents now ask tor ? 10,000
lamages from the druggists.

developments in the last twenty-four hours
assure them of the prevalence of yellow
fever, tending to assume an epidemic form. '
Northern Pacillc Earnings.
New York, Aug. 9. A detailed state
ment of the Northern Pacific Company's
operations for the fiscal year ended about
a month ago has now been given to the di
rectors. It shows up far better than was
anticipated, even by insiders. After pro
viding for operating expenses, interest on
the company's . bonds, and every other
charge for the year, they found that there
remains a 'surplus of $518,000. Over 3 per
cent was earned upon the preferred stock
during tiie year.much ot the earnings nav
ing also gone to develop and extend the
road.

Dynamiters.
Ciiicagcv Aug. 9. Anther dangerous
dynamite bomb was found this afternoon in
a Wagner palace car, and if the thing had
not been discovered before any passengers
entered the car, there would probably have
been a terrible wreck and great loss of life.
The palace car was attached to the Michi
gan Central "Cannonball" train, which left
this city this afternoon and the machine
was discovered by the porter an hour be
fore the train pulled out. He called in an
officer of the central detail and the police
man picked it up carefully ana took n to tne
station. The bomb was oval in shape and
about the size of a baseball. It was topped
with tin and on each end was a fuse. The
head of a parlor match was placed near the
fuse, and if the thing had roiled over or re- '
celvcd a slight kick, explosion ol the match
would have followed, igniting the fuse.
After removing the match head und fuse
some of the dynamite was out of the bomb
and testea, and found to be genuine mater
ial and very powerful. The police have no
clue.
