A Qneer Plea. Tecoma, July io.The case of Wm. White for murder came off before the dis trict court to day on a motion to quash the indictment. The motion is based on the fact that of the seven grand jurors who found the indictment, two were women. Col. Haines of Seattle argued for the de fendant and Hon. Galusha Parsons of Iowa for the territory. The case has once been tried, a verdict of murder in the second de gree being found, and is returned from the supreme court for a new trial, i A Carinas Startler. Grafton, July io. A peculiar murder case comes from Ohiowa. The coroner . has just returned from there, where he held an inquest. Bernard King, a farmer, pur chased a pair of boots. King and his wl'e were hoeing in a corn field. Mrs. King thought the boots were too high priced an article for her husband, and they got into a quarrel and" belabored each other with hoes. Mrs. King struck her husbanda vio lent blow with a hoe biade, from the ef fects of which he died. She left the body lying in the corn field until the arrlvial of the coroner. The murderess is under ar rest. I - Sucess'ir io N. H. Allen & Co 57 First Street, Albany, Or 4.00 p. it. I Loavo 7:V) a m I Arrive Portland Alb.ny Arrive Leave Loave Nutth 10:40 A u 7:11.)
