Coming back Osborne was gene and he thought no more about it until hearing of his sickness, when he examined the arti cles carefully and says they did not look as If they were used. A shrewd, fine looking man was in the city Tuesday, in the interest of himself and capitalists, of Minne apolis, He r anted to know all about Al baiy, Linn county and Oregon generally, the price of everything, woolsn mills, manu facturing interests, etc. Somewhere in Ore' gon, probably Portland, he intends starting a large produce house, and at three or four other plic:: branch heucei, for general mar ehaudise, and where there will be a market for everything rai..:d. He left on the even' ing train for Brownsville to examine into the workings of the mills there. Did our Board of Trade or real estite men know that he was here feeling around? A Corvallis paper says the arguments used in the Democrat recently In favor of a bridge here are as applicable to that city as to Albany. Cor rect. Here's a scheme suggested by the fact. Suppose Benton county on account of its northeast end contributes liberally for a bridge at Albany and Linn county on account of its southwest corner liberally for one at Corvallis, nnd each for itself, and the thing will be done.
