For the past few weeks the rain has been just what was desired, for wc have had plenty to ensure our crops and gardens, as well as a bountiful crop ef all kinds of fruit. The election passed off very quietly.the principal work done by both factions was on the still hunting plan. I believe our peo ple are satisfied with the result. Mr. Thos. Michael and family and his mother were at Waterloo rusticating, went home yesterday. Mr. Chas. C. Younger, of Itrownsville had a very severe spell of the measles, and came here to see if the sodawater would benefit hiin. He started home on Saturday before the election. Frank Gleason went to Corvallis to-day. John Hudelsonand wife came over from Corvallis to visit friends and relatives, and tne next day his w ife was taken .verv sick and was bed fast several days. She is now very mucn netter. Mr. Win. Dallarhide, D. I. had a severe attack of heart disease on Friday night, is better now. Mr and Mrs I M Bruce are attending tne spiritual camp meeting this week. A nice little dance at Arthur Hudel son's last Friday night. Mr Levi Walton and Miss Smith were in town Saturday visiting Mr. Gross, turned home Sunday, while here thev gave us some fine music on the violin and organ. Mr E C Russell, of Sweet Home was in Waterloo visiting his brother-in-law, S A DeVancy yesterday. I noticed on the streets yesterday Mr. Mell Miller, Johnnie Miller, W W Miller, Frank Gleason, David Howe, they report crops good in tneir respective neignpor- hoods.
