St. Louis, June 14 Delegates and alter-
nates, political clubs-and politicians of high
and low degree are arriving thick and fast
this morning. An-early as 7 o'clock the
Urion depot was packed, and during the
morning, at intervals of five and ten min
utes, regular and special trains hare been
coming in and empting their loads of peo
ple who come toi take part in the fray.
They all wore badges, and nearly all carreid
banners. Tne one word on their lips was
Thurman.

Milton", Si. C.June 4. A terrible cy
clone passed near this place Saturday after
noon, extending over a tract twenty-five
miles long and 500 yards wide. The dam
age is enormous, as the cyclone passed
through a farming section, and everything
in its track was completely destroyed. So
far as known no lives were lost.
Rockdale, Tex. June 4. A terrifying
calamity has befallen Rockdale. This
morning at 4 o'clock the Mendine hotel, a
three story brick building, was found on fire
and was quickly all ablaze. Inside were
thirteen persons, only two w horn escaped
alive.
