A terrible cy clone passed near this place Saturday after noon, extending over a tract twenty-five miles long and 500 yards wide. The dam age is enormous, as the cyclone passed through a farming section, and everything in its track was completely destroyed. So far as known no lives were lost. Rockdale, Tex. June 4. A terrifying calamity has befallen Rockdale. This morning at 4 o'clock the Mendine hotel, a three story brick building, was found on fire and was quickly all ablaze.
