An ugly gash crosses the chin, part of the nose is cutoff, and the scalp is split back from each corn er of the forehead to the crow n of the head, the skin dropping down over the face. John Olson has sued Dr. Torca.preprietor of the Turk ish baths on Post strcet,for$io,ooo,for hav ing incurred disease w hile rubbing a bather. Olson avers that a patient that he w as serving was afflicted with a terrible skin and blood disease, contagious and deadly, and in the operation of bathing he had im parted the infection to Olson. The disease has made Olson blind. In llnrmony Washington, May 10. The democratic state convention met this afternoon. For delegates at large there was a contest, a fight being made on W. C. P. Brecken ridge. who was defeated very badly. The features of the convention were the enthu siasm displayed at the mention of President Cleveland's name, as well as that of Gov. Blackburn, and speechesby Hon. Henry Watersn and Senator Blackburn. They were in complete harmony with the posi tion of President Cleveland on the tariff, and all other pe-Uions, fully endorsing the administration.
