II.de Young, proprietor of the San 1'rancisca Chronicle and chairman of the cammittee of arrangements of the Cali fornia delegation to the republican natonal convention, says that while at Chicago he will do all in his power ta maintain Califor nia's reputation for hospitality. "I shall not leave here unti the rest of the delega tion do, but everything is ready for our re ception. I have engaged forty-five rooms in the Leland hotel. We shall leave here in a special train and will carry 1000 cases of wine. We shall also take along with us a great deal of fruit, and also our band I have just arranged for the hiring of a band, and the expenses of that alone will be $2000. A new Democratic campaign emblem 1ms iust made its annearance. It is called "The Cleveland Button," and is about the size of a penny. The background is black upon which is a gold colored horseshoe in closing the initials " G. C."
