Uth and 12th were Mr and Mrs. Gene Holtzenberger of Escondido, Calif. Mr. Holtzenberger is a re ­ tired naval officer and became a c ­ quainted with Mr. Worrall while he was stationed at the Naval Research Labratory in Washington, D .C. in 1937. The Luke Bonds on Pleasant Creek were hosts Sunday at a weiner bake with all the trimmings. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Condray and daughter, Caroline, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Chancier and family. Mr and Mrs. J. Penn and family; and Mrs. Penn's brother, Bud Canall. HAM MOND DINNER FOR FORMER RESIDENT Mr. and Mrs Roy Cameron of Gold Hill entertained with a fam ­ ily dinner Sunday in honor of Mr. and Mrs.Ernest Gregory of Alhambra California. The Gregory’s are vacation­ ing in Gold Hill and attending to some property which they purchased some time ago. Mrs. Gregory is a niece of Mr. Cameron, and will be remembered as the former Grace Birdseye, daught­ er of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dave Birdseye. Her father was sheriff of Jackson County at one time when the county seat was at Jacksonville. She was born on the old Cornutt place on the Old Stage Road, which was once an overnight stop for wag­ on trains travelling the road. She cam e to Gold Hill for schooling by hone and buggy. Others present at the dinner party beside the honorees, and Mr. and Mrs.Cameron, were Mrs.Effie Birdseye and her son. Glen.
