Following a short talk by F.E. Price, dean. School of Agricul­ ture, OSC, and Director of the Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station, there will be a guided tour of the farm. Experiment station and exten­ sion service personnel under dir­ ection of Harold H. White, Agro­ nomist in charge of Crops Resea­ rch at the Southern Oregon Sta­ tion, will be on hand to assist visitors In seeing and obtaining information about the crops grow lng on the farm. Specialists from the Oregon St­ ate College at Corvallis and the county agents of Jackson.Jose­ phine and Douglas counties will be present to discuss various crops growing on the farm. Growing on the farm are 46 var ieties of alfalfa, in excess of 100 species and varieties of grasses, 3 varieties of lotus and more than 100 varieties of wheat, oats and barley; 22 varieties of field corn and ten of forage sorghums. Many crops new to the area are being tested for adaptation to southern Oregon. Results of varietal testing. fertil­ ization. weed and inset control will be presented. This is not only a farmer's field day, says Mt. White, but an opport- unity for business and professional people to learn about some of the problems in growing the food, feed and fiber we all need in our every­ day life, also to leafn how the ex­ periment station is organized and conducted to solve these problems.
