THURSDAY. JUNE 28. 1856 County 4-H’ers Hold Crops, Livestock Tour Yesterday and Today The annual Southern Oregon Crops and Livestock tour of Jackson and Josephine county 4-Hers was held yesterday and this morning in Jackson county. .About 15 4-H’ers and leaders visited local farms to judge sheep, dairy, beef and swine and look at some of the latest de velopment in crops in southern Oregon. The schedule for Wednesday was: visit Southern Oregon Ex periment Station at Talent; lunch at Lithia park in Ash land, sheep judging at George Nichols, Ashland; and dairy judging at P. K. Nelsons Clover lawn Dairy, Medford. Overnight encampment was held at Vic Gardeners at the end of Yankee Creek road. This morning, Thursday, the group visited A. T. Lathrops farm in Central Point for swine judging; stopped at John Boh- nert farm for beef judging and visited Otto Bohnert to see crops. The box of fice. located at the festival the atre in Ashland, will be open from 9:30 a m until 5 p m. daily except Sunday. Festival patrons are reminded that the deadline for purchasing sustaining membership is July 31. The membership is $15 and entitles the holder to eight trans ferable $2 40 admissions. Mem berships carry voting privileges in the festival association. Urgent Need Cited For Postal Clerks There is an urgent need for substitute clerks in many post offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana with en trance pay of 1.82 per hour, John M Young, regional direct or, 11th U. Applications for employment will be accepted by Postmaster George Evans at the Central Point post office from persons who are patrons or employees of the office, provided they are citizens and at least 18 years of age.
