Initiation Ceremonies Held
Thursday by Job's Daughters
Central Point Bethel 38, Job’s
Daughters, held initiation cere­
monies on Thursday evening,
June 14. Retiring Honored Queen
Vicki Noel presided at this final
meeting of the bethel for the
term. Misses Lea Padgett, Patsy
Bal jo, Janet Hobbs and Karen
Golding were the candidates in­
itiated.
Introduced and escorted were
Miss Anita Conger, Past Honor-
er Queen; Mrs. Paul Snook, new
Bethel Guardian; Melvin Mc­
Grew, associate guardian; Mrs.
Al M. Setness, past guardian;
Victor Noel, past associate guard­
ian, all from Bethel 38, Central
Point.
Miss Noel thanked her officers
and choir, guardian council, and
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Noel for their assistance during
her term as honored queen.
Birthday greetings were ex­
tended to Misses Chloe Carson,
Arlene Chause and Sally Elden.
It was announced that a form­
al dinner dance honoring Re­
tiring Honored Quee n Vicki
Noel will be held at the Jackson
hotel on Saturday, June 23 at
7:00, A swimming party for
bethel members will be held in
July, date to be anounced later.
•Refreshments were served by
Mrs. Leonard Warren and Lin­
da, Mrs. B. Sam Taylor and
Patty, Mrs. J. S. Scalberg, Lor­
raine and Janet and Mrs. Victor
Noel and Vicki. Red and white
roses were used for centerpiece.
Chapter room decoration com-
mittee included Misses Ruth
Day, Janet Kilburn and Mrs.
Lewis Kilbourn.
Practice for installation will
be held on Monday, June 25 at
7:00 p.m. Miss Marla Jean Ab-
bott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
C. William Abbott, Central
Point, Oregon will be installed
as honored queen at a public
ceremony on Thursday evening,
June 28, at 7:30 p.m. Crater
Chapter, Order of DeMolay, will
assist in the coronation.
An addendurfi, written and di­
rected by Mrs. Scott Hamilton,
entitled “Cloud Dusters’’ was pre­
sented honoring Misses Vicki
Noel, Marla Jean Abbott, Nadra
Moore, Gwen Moore and Anita
Conger, Crater High school grad­
uates; eighth grade graduates
also honored were Misses
Rachel Hamilton, Ruth Day,
Julie Ashton. Laurel Setness.
Jeanette Purdy, Chloe Carson,
Patti Barber, Ellen Ward, Betty
Pestka, Karen Larsen, Nancy
Stewart, Lea Padgett. Patsy
Baljo and Karen Golding. All
emerged from the “cloud dust­
ing” with halos, including Mrs.
Al M. Setness, “graduate” past
guardian of the bethel.
Ten Members Attend
Relief Corps Meet
Tuesday Afternoon
Women’s Relief Corps of
Central Point met on Tuesday,
June 19. at the Legion Memorial
hall with ten members present.
During the business meeting,
the inability of the group to
meet at the cemetery on Mem­
orial Day because of illness and
absence of members on vacation
was discussed.
A luncheon of cake and coffee
was served by Margaret Wilson
after the business session. The
luncheon was to celebrate birth­
days of members occurring in
April, May and June.
Four members honored Were
Margaret Wilson, Mary Foster,
Ethel Griggs and Jo Whaley.
Those attending were Marg­
aret Wilson, Emma Jones, Mary
Foster, Emma Pence, Evelyn
Novak, Bess Henderson, Jo
Whaley, Eethel Griggs, Maggie
Biehn and Rose Hermanson.
The next meeting will be July
17 in the Legion Memorial hall.
1st Birthday Party
Fetes David Langston
David Langston celebrated his
first birthday on Monday, June
11, with a party at the home
of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Langston.
Ice cream and cake were
served with many nice birthday

man.

Pass; his grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Russ Peebles, also of Grants
Pass, and Mr. and Mrs Bert
Langston, of Central Point; and
his older brother, Mike Lang­
ston.

At Homemakers Meet
Table Rock 4-H Homemaking
club met recently with Glenna
Brown, president, presiding.
Roll call was conducted by
the secretary, Carol Myers.
Alleta Meyers led the salute
to the flags.
A question period was held
by the club leader. Meeting
time was changed to 3 p.m.
Wednesday. Members worked on
their projects before the meet-
ing was adjourned
