THURSDAY, JUNE 7, 1956 Nielsens Observe Silver Wedding Date on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Albert C. Nielsen of Central Point-Jacksonville highway celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 3, with an open house from 2 to 6 o’clock in the afternoon. The reception table, which held large cakes, was decorated with a large bowl of pink roses and white candles. Mrs. Grace Mulligan and Mrs. Jeanette Beih- ler served the guests. About 60 friends called dur ing the afternoon. The couple re ceived many lovely gifts and during the afternoon received four telephone calls of congrat ulation from relatives in Upland, Nebraska, and Tucson, Arizona. For the occasion, Mrs. Nielsen wore a coral pink dress with a crystal necklace which was a gift from her husband on their wedding day 25 years ago. The Nielsens have two sons, Allan and Randall, who are students at Central Point schools. Here for the celebration from distant points were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mulligan and Caroline Kay Nielsen from Okanogan, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bolin from Omak, Wash., Mr. Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Biehler and daughters, Janice and Connie, from Portland, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jordan from Lincoln, Ne braska. —ANNOUNCEMENT— Due to the illness of some members the Womans Relief Corps of Wm. H. Harrison Post No. 27, was unable to get all flags distributed on the G.A.R. veterans graves Memorial Day. It also accounted for no service being held at the post command- bt ’ s grave side. Host ess for the occasion were Mrs. Theron Boen, Mrs. Leonard Kell, Mrs. Violet Ashley and Mrs. Ferd Jones. Pink and blue flow ers and pink and blue crepe paper was used for decorations. Games were played for enter tainment. A pink table held the at tractively wrapped gifts which were opened bv Mrs. Clemence assisted by Marjorie West. A number of friends who were not present sent gifts. Out of town quests were Mrs. W. C. Clemence, Mrs. Charles Clemence and daughters Martha and Debra Jean. Robert Conger Weds Mariorie Hunt In Home Ceremony Bv Mrs. Ray Doran TABLE ROCK—The Ray Bos worth home was the scene of a wedding Friday afternoon, June 1, at three o’clock when Robert Conger was united in marriage to Marjorie Hunt. Doctor Millard performed the ceremony before about 45 friends and guests. The table was decorated with lovely pink roses and pink cand les. Baskets of pink roses throughout the rooms carried out the theme. The bride’s sister, Ruth Ik- harn, Santa Monica, Calif., was maid of honor. Ray Bosworth was best man. The bride’s mother came from her home in Oakland, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Conger, Sr. were here from Prospect. The newlyweds will move in to their new home near Mc Cloud upon their return from a week’s wedding trip. OES MEETING TUESDAY Nevita Chapter 93, Order of Eastern Star, will hold a stated meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Masonic Temple. Re ports from grand chapter will be given. Shower Honors Miss Beth Eskew By Adah Jones GOLD HILL—Bride-elect Beth Eskew was honored on Tuesday evening when a large group of friends gave her a bridal show er. The affair was held at the Grange hail w’ith Mrs. Wilbur Martin. Mrs. Lawrence Smith, Mrs. S. M. Christej^en, Mrs. Nora Wait and Mrs. Sam Jones as hostesses. Miss Eskew, seated behind a table laden with gifts, was as sisted by her sister, Donna, and Marie Jones, at the pleasant task of opening the packages. Green and yellow crepe paper decorations and vases of roses furnished the decoration. Present for the occasion were Mesdames Ivan Smith, Paul Throne, Bob Jacks, Stanley Foley, Harry Foley, Jim Estre- mado, Joe Estremado, Harry Newnham, Ethel Eddington, Lucy Eddington. Bartletts Honored At Farewell Party Mr, and Mrs. Steve Bartlett were guests of honor at a fare well party last Thursday even ing, May 31, at the Legion Mem orial hall given by Central Point Jaycees and Jaycee-Ettes. Bartlett, former manager of Central Point Pharmacy, has purchased a drug store in Grants Pass. The family was presented with a farewell gift during the evening. About 20 families attended the potluck dinner and farewell party. Two Parties Honor Mrs. Ethel Fleischer Mrs. H J. (Ethel) Fleischer of Central Point, who is retiring from active teaching this year after 37 years service, was hon ored late last month at two parties by teachers of District 6. Mrs. Fleischer was presented with a gift of a folding aluminum picnic table. On May 31, faculty and staff of Crater High school honored Mrs. Fleischer at a party.
