THURSDAY, JUNE 7. 1856 Two Boys Clean School Grounds At Table Rock By Mrs. Ray Doran TABLE ROCK—Carl Vander pool and Wayne Wyatt have worked hard to clean up the school yard and it looks very nice. They cleaned out the flower beds and planted petunias, zin nias and marigolds. They clean ed around swings and teeter- totters and mowed the whole yard, even outside the fence along the county road. These boys did this on their own and received no pay except the thanks and appreciation of the community and the privilege of playing a game of softball on the grounds. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Brood, Corvallis, arrived to attend grad uation of Mrs Brood’s brother, Richard Morris, from Crater High school on Friday, June 1, Howard Doran, Redding, Cali fornia. spent Memorial Day with his father, Dan Doran, and broth er, Ray and family. An afternoon tea was held for the wives of the faculty of the Phoenir schools at the Dick Reums home Tuesday, June 5. Janice Gault spent Sunday night and Danny Matteson spent Friday night with cousins at the Bill Bishop home. Graduation Party A small party in honor of Richard Morris was held at his parents home after graduation for friends and relatives. Ray Doran and son, Dave and Harold, left early Sunday for a day of Diamond Lake fishing. Tamara and Shane Doran spent the weekend with their grand parents. Linda Doran attended a dinner and show with Laine Donker Saturday evening. Bible school started Monday morning at 9 o’clock for eight days. The date was set ahead so the Bishop children could attend as they are moving to Kansas City in a few weeks. Marsha Schulz and Allan Hill will be teachers. 40th Anniversary A potluck dinner was held Sun day at the Richardson home in honor of Mr. and Mrs. John Nealon on their 40th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Ruth Bishop and Mrs. Kit Leavitt celebrated birthdays also. There were 47 relatives present. Because of the weather, it had to be moved in doors. A farewell party in honor of Mark Bishop was given by Laine Donker at her home on North Pacific highway Thursday even ing. June 7. Barbecue was held at 5:30 p.m. and games of cro quet and badminton were play ed on the lawns. The evening was spent at a theater. Those present were Glenna Brown, Linda Doran, Don Ryan. Ray- anne Greene, Mildred Darras, Wayne Wyatt, Carl Vanderpool, Lee Starks, Carl Skvrman, the honored guest, Mark Bishop, and We Rent It! EM MERRICK'S CENTRAL POINT AMERICAN. CENTRAL POINT. OREGON the hostess, Laine Donker. Mary Myers, Lucile Smith and Myna Cook attended the Church of Christ singspiration Sunday afternoon in Grants Pass. Mr and Mrs. Tom Hobbs, Seattle, were overnight guests of cousin, Frank Myers, and family Tuesday, May 29. Monday evening a farewell supper was held at Jackson Hot Springs in honor of the Tisdel family who will be leaving soon for Texas. Mr. Tisdel has been ministering to the West Side Church of Christ for a good many years. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. E. Brown and Glenna, Fred Smith, Wayne and Lucile, Miss Grace Bigham, Joy Chap man and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Myers. ticians Association, has 15 years experience as a beautician. She has taken advanced training from leading stylists, such as Comer and Doran, and also serv ed as an instructor at the Med ford Beauty School. In addition, she has won a number of trophies for her skill as a hair stylist. Associated with Mrs. Ham mond in the shop is Elaine Mc Neill of Medford. She has two years exeprience in the profes sion. The shop was purchased from Fredda E. Davison of Central Point who has retired because of illness. Hammond Buys Medford Shop Remodeling of the office at Central Point Junior High school is underway. A former classroom, just north of the present office, is being remodeled for additional space. A doorway has been built be tween the two rooms. The rooms will have new floor covering installed and the walls will be replaced. Additional stor age shelves will also be con structed. Mrs. Maxine Hammond, well known beautician from Central Point, took over operation and ownership of Rolland’s Studio of Beauty at 24 South Grape street in Medford on Friday, June 1. Mrs. Hammond, presently state secretary for the Oregon Beau Offices Remodeled At Junior High PAGE THREE And^son Announces Opening in Medford Ted Anderson of Central Point, owner of Terole’s Jewelry now located at 39 Soijth Bartlett, Medford, this week announced his grand opening celebration. The opening, wihch started Wednesday evening, will con tinue through June 13. The jewelry shop was formerly located in Crater Department Store. SCHOOL BOARD MEET Regular June meeting of the board of directors of School Dis trict 6 will be held Monday, June 11, at Crater High school. However, students who did not leave a self-addressed envelope at the school office will have to pick up the final report cards in person. Cards must be picked up before June 15.
