The two women had not seen each other for three years. The Scotts were accompanied by their 18-month-old son, Rob bie. Mrs. West’s mother, Mrs. Bernice Willingham, from Chico, Calif., came up with the couple Mrs. Scott is the former Eleanor Willingham. The Scotts came up to enjoy some fishing in the Rogue River. Mr. and Mrs. Emory Able, former residents ef Gold Hill have purchased the Westgate home on Fifth ave. Mrs. Joan Dusenberry, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Cameron of Gold Hill and Bud Voss of Blackwell Hill were mar ried in Reno last Saturday. They are making their home for the present at Oak Manor motel. Ivan Smith came home from the hospital last Tuesday after -having had major surgery at a Medford hospital Mr. Smith lives on Sardine creek. The primary class of the Com munity Methodist Sunday school is sponsoring a coffee hour on Mav 21 at the home of Mrs. Paul Molloy of the Oaks motel, be tween the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. This is the first of the Sunday school classes to raise money towards a new parsonage for the church. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Kell were hosts on Mother’s Day for a dinner with friends and relatives enjoying the hospitality. Present were Mr. and Mrs. William Force, parents of Mrs. Kell; Mr. and Mrs. Arty Laws and chil dren Ronnie and Elizabeth of Rogue River; Mrs. Laws is also a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Force. OREGON Pacific Telephone Company people from Medford knd throughout the state met in Med ford Tuesday to discuss major service improvements for Med ford, Ashland, Jacksonville. Cen tral Point and Gold Hill, Phoenix and Talent. The day-long session, accord ing to local manager Jack Creag er, will cover direct toll-free cal ling, establishment of the new Phoenix-Talent exchange, and changes to seven-digit telephone numbers. Approval of the improvements, scheduled to go into effect in February or March of 1957, was recently given Pacific Telephone by the Public Utilities commis sion. Estimated cost of the projects has been set at about $645,000, Creager states. In connection with the plan ned improvements, two large cable jobs have already started. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Danforth, former residants of Gold Hill, were recent guests of friends in the valley. They were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrison. Mrs. Ethel Mays and son, Bud dy, left Friday for Tularosa, New Mexico, to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. H. Haviland of Gold Hill, purchased the Mays place and moved in on Saturday. Mrs. Charles Bell returned to her home in Salem on Tuesday after spending the past week at the home of Mrs. Paul Molloy.
