Local SOCE Students At Teachers Confab Jim McDonald, Southern Ore gon College social science major from Medford, was elected state president of the Future Teachers of Oregon Association at the an nual conference held last month at Monmouth. Neil Richardson, Medford, one of the retiring regional directors of the group, made the nomina tion speech for McDonald before the assembled delegations of 16 member colleges. Richardson is a senior at SOC this year. In addition to McDonald and Richardson, delegates from the Ashland school included: John Stuckey, Ashland, retiring vice- president and campus chapter president; Mary Thums, Sweet I am going to vote at the May 16th Primary to re nominate I. G. "Shy" Morthland for County Commissioner, because: He is a good business man, honest and reliable, and dedicated to strict economy in county government. We can now travel to any point in Jackson County on good, paved hard-top roads More road and bridge improve ments have been made in the past seven years than tn the previous ten years. All this improvement has been ac complished without special bond issues, or direct taxation. The much needed Annex to our county courthouse has been built, without bond issue or a direct tax on real estate. All of the above has been paid for by State Gasoline Tax money, or O & C Land revenues I. G. “Shy" Morthland has done a very fine job for us. Let's keep him in office, to continue this kind of public service.
